Energy Cards[]

FS Pixelmon Energy Card Example

Example TCG Fire Type Energy Card

Pokémon cannot attack without energy cards. At the start of your turn, strategically apply one of the 11 different types of energy cards to your Pokémon in-play on the board. This essential move fuels your Pokémon, allowing them to launch powerful attacks as long as they have the required amount of energy cards. The 11 different types of energy cards includes:

  • Grass
  • Fire
  • Water
  • Lightning
  • Psychic
  • Fighting
  • Darkness
  • Metal
  • Fairy
  • Dragon
  • Colourless (This card can be used with any Pokémon type and works great in any PokéDeck)

Parts of a Pokémon Card[]

Example Trainer Card

Parts of Card Description
Pokémon Name This is the name of the Pokémon. The example Pokémon depicted is called Growlithe
Pokémon Type Each Pokémon have a type. Pokémon are either stronger or weaker against certain types of Pokémon, use this to your advantage. Growlithe is a fire type, thus using a water type Pokémon would be advantageous.
Hit Points Hit points (HP) tells you how much damage a Pokémon can take before they are knocked out. Growlithe has 60HP before it is knocked out.
Pokémon Stage Some Pokémon can evolve into stronger versions of themselves. In TCG, you always start with the basic evolution and work your way up the evolution chain towards stage 1 and then stage 2 if you have the cards.
Energy Cost Energy required for the Pokémon to attack. Growlithe requires one fire and one any colour energy card to perform the Flare attack.
Attack Move The attacks a Pokémon can perform. If there is no damage points next to the move, it will deal no damage. Attacks require energy cards attached to the Pokémon to use the attack.
Damage Points Damage points tells you how much damage the attack move will deal if it is used.
Pokémon Weakness Most Pokémon have a weakness. If there is one, it is indicated by the Pokémon type and how much damage they will receive from that Pokémon type. In Growlithe's case, it will receive 2x damage from water type Pokémon.
Pokémon Resistance Pokémon can also have weaknesses and it would be indicated by the Pokémon type and how much damage they will receive less. Growlithe does not have any resistances depicted in the example image. For example if Growlithe has a resistance of fire type minus 10 then fire type attack moves deal 10 less damage. So hypothetically if another fire type Pokémon used the move flare on Growlithe, it would only deal 10 damage points as Growlithe has a resistance of minus 10 and flare is a 20 damage point move.
Energy Cost to Retreat Pokémon can retreat from the active zone back to the bench zone to be subbed out by another Pokémon. In doing so, the energy cost is required to be paid before this can be done. In the case of Growlithe, it would require one any colour energy card to retreat Growlithe.

Pokémon Evolution Stages[]

FS Pixelmon TCG Evo Stage 3

Example Card of Charizard at Stage 2 Evolution

In Pokémon TCG, most cards start at the basic stage, representing their base evolution. To evolve your Pokémon during gameplay, use the appropriate evolution cards. Place a Stage 1 or Stage 2 evolution card on top of a basic or Stage 1 Pokémon, respectively. Remember, a Pokémon can't evolve on the same turn it's played (unless otherwise specified by another card) and can only evolve once per turn. Adapt your strategy wisely!

Essence[]

These unique items empower players to capture essence, opening the door to exciting possibilities like trading for TCG Booster Packs or Cosmetic Cards. Craft your way through the spectrum with 16 different colored Essence Jars, each corresponding to a specific dye. For a dash of unpredictability, try crafting a random colored jar using glowstone dust in place of a colored dye.

To begin filling the Essence Jars via an active approach, hold the jar in your main hand and engage in wild Pixelmon battles – a thrilling method allowing only one jar to be filled at a time. Alternatively, embrace a more passive strategy by placing the jars down, allowing them to autonomously accumulate Essence over time. Keep in mind that this method is slower than the dynamic battles, offering a balance between action and patience as you amass the essence of your Pixelmon adventures!
