FAQ
My modpack crashes when I try to open it, what can I do?
If you are experiencing crashes or difficulty loading the client, consider allocating more ram to your launcher.
- Open your Technic Launcher and navigate to 'Launcher Options' in the top right-hand side.
- Go to Java Settings, ensure that Minecraft Java Version is set to the Latest option, and that it is 64bit.
- Click the Memory drop-down menu to allocate more memory (2GB is recommended, but how much you allocate is up to you. More than 1GB is usually required to run most modpacks)
I can't allocate more than 1GB of memory
If you can only allocate a maximum of 1GB, you may need to update your Java:
- Windows OS
- Verify that you don't already have a 64bit Java installed, and that you are using a 64bit Operating System (Open 'File Explorer', right-click 'This PC' (or Computer if not windows 10), select 'Properties' and find your 'System type'. If it's 64bit, proceed to the next step. If it's 32bit, your computer might be too old to run Pixelmon.
- Check what version of Java you already have installed (if any) by opening your Command Prompt. Go to Start (or press Win + R) and type "cmd", a command line tool should show up. Type 'java -version', and if you don't see a version with 64bit in it's name, continue to the next step.
- If you are running a 64bit Operating System, and have a non-64bit Java (or none at all) installed, go to Oracle's website and find the Windows Offline 64-bit download option. It should be the only one with 64bit in it's name. Click to download and follow the installation prompts, you should now be able to allocate more ram to your Technic Launcher.
- Mac OS
